Stud Groom

With our breeding season fast approaching,  we’re seeking staff to fill a number of roles on our Te Awamutu-based thoroughbred farm.

These roles vary from persons will be directly involved with the care and management of our horses throughout the year, to persons who may join us for their summer vacations to assist with our Karaka Yearling Sales preparation - November to early February.

We are also keen to bring in new persons to assist on our foaling watch roster, which commences early to mid August until early November.

Those with previous experience working with horses would be ideal candidates but we’re prepared to teach and support individuals who have a genuine wish to learn and contribute to our operation.

There’s also potential for successful applicants to complete apprenticeships and also the opportunity to study while you learn through NZQA recognised breeding courses.

This is an opportunity to work outdoors in a great environment with our horses whilst learning good work ethic plus new and transferable skills. All could lead to an amazing career in our horse breeding industry.

These positions require good energy and a total commitment to doing whatever role well. This is a great opportunity for those who are motivated and want to achieve.

Best suited to individuals living in Te Awamutu/Cambridge or nearby although on farm accommodation maybe available to suitable candidates.

Fair and competitive wages offered, and the ability to start asap is preferable.

You can learn more about our operation by visiting www.curraghmore.co.nz.

Farm Maintenance Person

We currently have a position available for a farm maintenance person on our thoroughbred farm located just outside of Te Awamutu.
