Weekend Wrap Up - March 27/28 2021

It was a big weekend of results and as well as success from Curraghmore graduates, it was brilliant to see Verry Elleegant achieve at elite level again for her successful connections that include breeder Don Goodwin, former trainer and part-owner Nick Bishara, John, Mark and Rachel Carter, Grangewilliam Stud who stand her sire Zed, James McDonald, Chris Waller and the rest of her ownership group.

Mo'unga was also successful on Saturday, giving Annabel Neasham her first Group One win and another elite winner for Waikato Stud and New Zealand Bloodstock to add to their hall of fame.

Three Curraghmore graduates posted success over the weekend. Both Royal Admiral and Granola State won at Port Macquarie and Winton in Australia respectively.

Meanwhile Annavisto took out the Bendigo feature on Saturday, the Listed Bendigo Guineas (1400m).

This was particularly noteworthy as the Nearco Stud bred Annavisto is out of Avisto who was one of Tavistock's first foals, his first winner, his first stakes winner and is now his first stakes producer as a broodmare sire.

It is fitting that Greg Tomlinson still owns a share in Annavisto who has been in great form this campaign and has now won two of her three starts this preparation.

Annavisto is also the seventh stakes winning Curraghmore graduate Mick Price has trained. She joins a talented list that includes the likes of Mighty Boss, Velocitea, and Pre Eminence.
