Weekend Wrap-Up 17.09.18

Curraghmore's weekend winner came in the form of Blue on Black (Camelot) who was successful at Ruakaka on Saturday.

The Anne Herbert-trained three-year-old was having his second career start and travelled up near the front of the pack before striding out in the straight to win by just under a length.

Blue on Black was bred by Gordon Calder, Geoff Taylor and Bill Thurlow, and sold as a weanling through Curraghmore's 2016 New Zealand Bloodstock May Sale draft.

The son of Camelot was a high profile lot of the consignment, and went on to make $90,000 in the ring.

He is bred to go over ground and looks a serious prospect.

On the farm there are 20 foals so far with covering also going well.

Curraghmore would like to extend their congratulations to the breeders' of Grunt and Brutal who were Flemington winners over the weekend, it is great to see the kiwi bred horses being successful at stakes level in Australia and both look like they have huge futures ahead.
