Monday Wrap Up 28.05.18

Curraghmore has two more winners on the board after limited runners on the weekend.

The well-travelled Rodrico (High Chaparral) won his New Zealand debut for the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman stable at Hawera on Sunday in the Sandfords Rural Carriers 1600m.

Bred in partnership by Roncon, Chelsaus and Wynaus Rodrico was purchased by Guy Mulcaster from Curraghmore's 2014 New Zealand Bloodstock draft for $235,000.  He was a multiple Australian winner and runner up in the Gr.1 Queensland Derby (2400m) before travelling to Hong Kong where he failed to live up to expectations.

Rodrico was placed in a trial earlier this month and appears to be thriving in New Zealand after letting down strongly to put his rivals away by two and a quarter lengths.

Goko (O'Reilly) broke his Hong Kong maiden winning the Packing Winner Handicap (1000m).

Bred by Nearco Stud Goko was purchased as a weanling by Ascot Farm for $160,000 from Curraghmore's 2014 draft at Karaka.  He then went on to make $525,000 as a Ready To Run 2yo.
