Monday Wrap Up 21.05.18

Curraghmore had another successful Saturday with some great results coming in from both sides of the Tasman.

Leading the charge was Lisdoonvarna (Super Easy), a three-year-old filly who was bred in partnership by Gordon Cunningham and Hallmark Stud.

Lisdoonvarna was stepping down in class and raced up on the pace to beat the favourite Seaway (Ocean Park) who came from behind in the Poitrel Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill.

It was her fifth career win from eight starts and she could now head north and chase black type at the Brisbane winter carnival.

It was another homebred, Roc De Banc (Roc de Cambes), who flew the flag in New Zealand winning the Joe Black Munns Handicap (1400m) at Te Rapa.

The five-year-old, who is a half-brother to last week's Rotorua winner Touch of Silver (Gullotine), was second up this campaign and went on to win by 2.3 lengths.

The consistent Dauphin de France (Zabeel) ran a very close second at the Gold Coast, he has now had two wins and two runner-up finishes in his last four starts.

Manolo Blahniq (Jimmy Choux) was resuming at Rosehill and put in a good effort to run third over 1100m in the John Size Hall of Fame Handicap.

Rounding out the results is Enormous Honour (Encosta de Lago) who scored a midweek win in Hong Kong.  He was towards the rear of the pack with 400m to go before making his move and winning by half a length.  The $300,000 2012 New Zealand Bloodstock graduate is a half-brother to Group One winner Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock).
