The 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale of 2YOs reached new heights this week with a record average price of just over $100,000 and a healthy clearance rate of 77%.

All six of the horses Curraghmore presented sold, for an average of $182,000 and aggregate of $1,092,000 making us the second leading vendor on average at the sale.

“We’re delighted with the prices we achieved for our clients," said Gordon Cunningham. "Going into the sale, we had confidence that we were offering a line up of horses with a lot of potential. The market confirmed this and hopefully this is only the beginning of the excitement for their new owners. We wish them all the very best."

"The success of the sale is a great credit to NZB and those vendors who have supported the sale over the years and sold an abundance of good horses.

"Many of these good horses were pinhooks and we were delighted to see Ohukia Lodge gain a big return for their colt by The Factor out of Japali Bike. He sold for $145,000 having been pinhooked from our Select Sale draft in January for $20,000. Roger James sold his Ocean Park colt out of Italian Princess for $150,000 having also purchased him out of the same draft for $40,000, last January. He was offered by Lansdowne Park.

Our top lot was Lot 174 the Fastnet Rock colt out of Dr Tan’s champion Singaporean mare Jolie’s Shinju. He was purchased by Mark Pilkington Management and Lindsay Park Racing, who train his full sister Formality and fellow Curraghmore graduates Tulip, Fanatic and the promising Long Leaf.

Our focus now switches to the NZB National Yearling Sale Series in January with catalogues now online at: https://www.curraghmore.co.nz/...
