Well-bred filly Unforgotten (Fastnet Rock) has underlined her promise with two wins in the space of seven days at Rosehill.

Unforgotten ($1.50 fav) was dominant in victory over 1300m at Rosehill last Saturday and the Chris Waller-trained filly was just as impressive stepping up to 1500m in the Schweppes Handicap, eased down by rider Jay Ford to a 2-1/2 length win.

By Fastnet Rock from a daughter of Galileo, Unforgotten is bred on a cross that has produced 54 winners worldwide since 2012, including 13 stakes winners.

Unforgotten was purchased by Waller for $360,000 from Currahmore Stud’s 2016 NZB Premier draft.

“It’s a great cross, I hear the Coolmore team talk about it all the time. Hopefully we see it come out in the autumn,” Waller said.

“I think over this distance she’s a bit more effective too. She was giving away a lot of weight to boys today but I thought her win was very impressive.”

Now a three-time winner in five career starts, Unforgotten will be spelled before returning for next year’s autumn carnival.

“That will be the last run for this prep, she’ll have a short break and then we’ll see what she can do in the autumn,” Waller said.

“I don’t know which races we’ll target yet but we’ll take her through a natural progression up to a mile and just see what happens from there.” -racenet.com.au
